A mind map is a diagram used to represent concepts, ideas, tasks or other items linked to a central theme. While you can create a mind map using a pen and a piece of paper, using MindView Online to create and edit the mind map provides many advantages. You can quickly create, organize and reorganize your mind maps, and they can easily be expanded or collapsed as needed so that you can focus on important details.
You can format your mind maps using different fonts and fill colors to make them easier to overview and understand, and you can use pictures and icons to further emphasize what each part of the mind map is about. You can insert hyperlinks to external resources, add quotations and bibliography sources and upload and attach external files such as spreadsheets and image files. With the MindView Assist app, you can quickly create research notes on your mobile device and insert them from the new Research panel on any device with MindView Online or a desktop version of MindView. You can insert start and end dates and task information, allowing you to use mind maps as a user-friendly project management tool.
Finally, you can print your finished mind maps or export them as pictures or PDF, Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint documents for quick and simple distribution to other stakeholders. You can also download your mind maps and continue working on them using the advanced features available in desktop versions of MatchWare MindView.

MindView Online is a web-based application that you can access from any browser that meets the requirements (see "Browser requirements" below). Your files and folders are stored on the online workspace MindView Drive and are available anywhere, anytime, no matter how you choose to access the application. You can export your mind maps to folders on Google Drive or Microsoft Live for unlimited access. And you can choose to log in using an existing Google, Microsoft Live or Facebook account.
MindView Online offers user-friendly sharing features. You can quickly and easily make your files and folders available to anyone. Simply select who you would like to share with, decide whether to give them write access to your files or folders – and then click a button to enjoy easy document sharing. If the person you want to share with does not have a MindView account, he or she can create one straight away and start using MindView Online.
Once you have shared a file with one or more other users in MindView Online and given them write access, they can collaborate with you on editing the file. All users with write access to the file can edit it simultaneously. In this way, large or complex mind maps can be developed much faster; the perfect solution for brainstorming or concept development tasks.
You can publish your finished mind maps on the online MatchWare mind map library. The library contains maps created for business and educational purposes, and you can add your own maps to the collection. From the online map library, you can share your public maps with others using e-mail and social media.

Do you need to change your password? Or do you want to add a new user or user group to your organization? MindView Online is integrated with the user-friendly MindView account page where you can easily handle everything from changing your password to importing users from Google Groups. For more information, see "User options" and "Administrator options".
As described in "Creating a new account", you get a free trial of MindView Online when creating a new account. If you have not purchased the full version of MindView Online when the free trial ends, or if you cancel your subscription without closing your account, the application is converted to a viewer version. The viewer version does not expire but has the following limitations:
You can open and view
mind maps, including maps shared with you by others, but you cannot edit,
save, publish, export or download them.
After 60 days, all your
files are automatically deleted.
